Kosmos and Mayfair Games will unveil new branding for the Catan line at the International Toy Fair in Nuremberg, Germany later this month.  The base game will now be called Catan in all countries and languages (it has been called Settlers of Catan in the U.S.).  The cover art and graphic designwill also be standardized worldwide.

Over 22 million copies of the base game and its expansions have been sold worldwide, the company said, in 30 languages.
