Newspapers and flea markets are the themes of two new games announced by Mayfair Games, Extra! Extra! and Flea Market, both planned for release in Q1.

Extra! Extra! is a worker placement and bidding board game designed by Andrew Bond.  Players are rival newspaper editors, attempting to manage reporters, a limited budget, and a world full of news.  The goal is to fit the best stories into their paper’s layout, while getting money from advertising and extra stories, and getting the complete issue to press as quickly as possible.  Each paper has a specialty, so some stories are worth more to specific readerships.  The player who scores the most points for their completed paper wins.

The box contains: 94 story tiles, 54 article cards, 54 photo cards, 60 feature cards, 40 coins/money, 14 morgue photo tiles, 14 morgue article tiles, 6 double sided player boards , 30 Player pieces (5 each for 6 players), bonus tokens, gone to press bonus tokens, a three panel double-sided mounted board, money, and a rulebook.  The game is for 2-6 players, ages 12 and up, and plays in 90 minutes.  MSRP is $65.00.  The game is planned for late March release.

Flea Market is a dice-rolling game designed by Leo Colovini (Cartagena, Inkognito, Aztlan) where players are buyer’s agents at a flea market, trying to find popular items to buy cheap and sell at a profit.  The first player to earn $45.00 wins.

The box contains: a market board, 3 demand dice, 10 player dice (2 per player), 5 player tiles, an active agent tile, 16 cool item tokens, 60 pieces of cash, and a rules sheet.  The game is for 3-5 players, ages 8 and up, and plays in 30 minutes.  MSRP is $21.00.  Release is planned for late February.
