On the occasion of its tenth anniversary, Scholastic’s Graphix imprint has announced several future projects for Jennifer L. Holm and Matthew Holm, Raina Telgemeier, Kazu Kibuishi, Mike Maihack and Craig Thompson, for 2015 and beyond.
Sunny Side Up, written and illustrated by Jennifer L. Holm and Matthew Holm (Babymouse, Squish), is a semi-autobiographical graphic novel planned for release on August 25. The new full-color graphic novel is intended for readers ages 8-12.
August is also the release of Space Dumplins, by Craig Thompson (Blankets, Habibi; see "Craig Thompson's 'Space Dumplins'").
Graphix has also acquired new projects from Raina Telgemeier, Kazu Kibuishi, and Mike Maihack.
From bestselling author Telgemeier (Smile, Drama, Sisters, see "Raina Telgemeier Has Over 3.5 Million Graphic Novels in Print"), Graphix announced that it has acquired another nonfiction family story (similar to Smile and Sisters), a collection of short stories, and a fictional graphic novel. From Kibuishi, two more volumes in the bestselling Amulet series were announced, as well as an untitled future graphic novel. Two more books in Mike Maihack’s Cleopatra in Space series (books 3 & 4), are also planned.
