Cryptozoic Entertainment has revealed more of its plans for licensed merchandise at Toy Fair, as the range of products being developed by new VP Bill Schanes (see "Schanes Joins Cryptozoic as VP") takes shape.
Cryptozoic will be producing vinyls, minibusts, and playing cards tied to DC Comics properties. "DC Collectibles has the higher end price points and we’re doing all the lower end price points," Schanes explained. "They’re doing the $200 items, we’re doing the $40 and $100 items."
The company will produce DC Bombshells playing cards in two packages, a $5 single deck pack, and a $12.95 twin pack in a tin.
Cryptozoic is also planning two high concept retro-style DC lines. One is for collector kits, with tin toys and playing cards, done in the style of the 1940s and 50s.
A second concept is for merch tied to a fantasy Batman animated series similar to the Fleischer Superman series from the 1940s.
Cryptozoic’s DC license will also include the Batman video game properties.
In addition to the previously announced Ghostbusters Board Game (see "'Ghostbusters: The Board Game'"), Cryptozoic will also be producing additional Ghostbusters merch, including the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man Apron and Hat Set, which will be sold in a gift box together. Cryptozoic is also planning vinyl Ghostbusters figures for Q1 2016, which will be sold both individually and as blind box purchases. Both minis (around $12) and larger figures ($25-$30) are planned. Cookie cutters are planned for Q4 2015.
Cryptozoic will produce mini-busts of the two main characters from Adventure Time, expanding the product range beyond the successful Adventure Time Card Wars game.
Cryptozoic has acquired a license to produce merchandise tied to The Walking Dead comic property. The company already has a license for The Walking Dead TV property for games, including its successful board game.
Special packages are planned as part of the program for Bone figures, which were announced last week (see "Cryptozoic to Produce 'Bone' Figures"). The newly revealed packages will pair figures with each of the Scholastic Bone graphic novel volumes.
