Gearing up for the launch of the creator-owned Kaijumax and licensed comics based on the cartoon series Invader Zim and Rick & Morty, Portland-based indie publisher Oni Press has promoted three members of its editorial staff. Editor Charlie Chu, who has been with Oni since 2010, has been promoted to Senior Editor, while Robin Herrera has been promoted to Editor, and Ari Yarwood will now be an Associate Editor.
Going forward Chu, who edited the Sixth Gun for Oni, will be working on the monster-themed Kaijumax title, while Robin Herrera will oversee Oni’s licensed comic based on Jhonen Vasquez’ Nickelodeon series Invader Zim (see "'Invader Zim' Comics"), and Ari Yarwood will handle the editorial chores on the licensed comic based on the Adult Swim cartoon series Rick & Morty (see "Oni Nabs Licensed 'Rick & Morty' Comic").
