The same day Heavy Metal’s first comic release Hoax Hunters #1 hit shelves, a story broke that Craig Titley was named screenwriter on a film adaptation of the title on The Hollywood Reporter.
Titley is a writer and consulting producer on Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., as well as having writing credits on Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief, Cheaper by the Dozen, and Scooby Doo.
Don Murphy (From Hell, The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, all 5 Transfomers films) is attached to produce, along with Heavy Metal’s new owners Jeff Krelitz and David Boxenbaum (see "Heavy Metal to Base Its Comic Book Line in Portland").
Hoax Hunters is written by Michael Moreci and Steve Seeley, with art by Christian Dibari and covers by Rob Prior. The series was initially published by Image Comics, but moved to Heavy Metal last year for its "second season." The series follows a group of TV show paranormal investigators who debunk mysteries, but in reality are working to keep the world’s dark forces secret.
