Game Salute will release Fast & Furious: Full Throttle, a new licensed board game based on the popular street racing movie franchise, in late 2015.

With Universal’s seventh installment of the franchise currently ruling the box office (see “ 'Furious 7' Obliterates April Box Office Records”), a board game adaptation is no surprise. The fully-licensed street racing game is designed by veteran racing game designers Jeff and Carla Horger (Thunder Alley).  Players choose a street car token, and in a more advanced variant a driver with special abilities (Dom, Letty, Brian, Han, ect.), and then decide on a course – with or without obstacles.  Players then customize their cars with upgrade tokens.  During the race, players must manage their hand of cards to changes gears, gain speed, change lanes, and deal with obstacles and damage. The goal is to complete the course with speed to spare, since that can determine the final winner if multiple players cross the finish line on the same turn.

MSRP has not been finalized, but “should be around $40.00,” Game Salute’s Dan Yarrington told ICv2. “We expect it to release for holidays 2015. Release is dependent on production times and licensor approvals, but that's what we're estimating at present.“
