Marvel has shared details and covers for the remastered original Marvel Comic adaptations of the second and third installments of the Star Wars trilogy. Star Wars: Episode V- The Empire Strikes Back will arrive in August, with Star Wars: Episode VI– Return of the Jedi following in November.
Star Wars: Episode V- The Empire Strikes Back collects Star Wars (1977) #39-44 written by Archie Goodwin with art by Al Williamson and Carlos Garzon. Like A New Hope (see "Remastered, Oversized 'Star Wars' Comics Collections"), the story’s art has been remastered by Marvel colorist Chris Sotomayor (Ms. Marvel, Captain Marvel). It will also feature a new cover by Adi Granov (Iron Man, Nova). The 144-page hardcover has MSRP $24.99.
Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi was written by Archie Goodwin with art by Al Williamson and Carlos Garzon. Art remastering is done by Chris Sotomayor. The 112-page hardcover will collect the four-issue miniseries which happened outside of the regular Star Wars comic series order. Release is planned for early November. MSRP is $24.99.
The remastered Star Wars: Episode V- A New Hope will release on May 6 (see "Preview: 'Star Wars: Episode IV--A New Hope' HC").
