What began with Munchkin Apocalypse: Mars Attacks, and quickly spread to other Steve Jackson Games releases, has now spread to the roleplaying universe of GURPS. The company has announced GURPS Mars Attacks will be the next licensed adaptation of the Topps trading card property.

The new sourcebook is written by Jason Levine, a long-time contributor to GURPS and Shadowrun. With GURPS Mars Attacks, fans of the “Generic Universal Role Playing System” will be able to experience the iconic alien invasion first introduced in trading card form by Topps in 1962. The book will include rules for playing both Earthlings and Martians in the game. Release date and MSRP were not available.
The earlier Mars Attacks games from Steve Jackson include a dice game (see "'Mars Attacks: Dice Game,' 'Munchkin Legends 3: Myth Prints,' More") and a dexterity game (see "'Mars Attacks' Dexterity Game'"), as well as the Munchkin Apocalypse set (see "'Munchkin Apocalypse: Mars Attacks'").
