This limited edition version will be packaged in a metal tin, decorated with the familiar artwork from artist Noboru Hotta. Inside will be not only the base game, but also both of the expansion sets already produced, Harbor and Millionaire’s Row (see "'Machi Koro: Millionaire's Row'"). In addition to the more than 300 cards from those three sets, the deluxe edition will include upgraded playing counters, a pair of sculpted dice, a drawstring bag, and two exclusive cards only available in this set: five copies of the "Mega Gaming Store" and six copies of the "Diamine," with each copy featuring different art. The Diamine card features the characters from Machi Koro designer Masao Suganuma’s other IDW title, Diamonsters (see "'Diamonsters'"), creating the first crossover between the two games (see gallery below).
MSRP for the Machi Koro Deluxe Edition is $49.99.
Machi Koro has been a critical and commercial success for IDW Games, ranking number nine on ICv2’s list of hobby channel card and dice games over the 2014 holiday season (see "Top 10 Hobby Channel Card/Dice Games--Fall/Holiday 2014"). This year’s Gen Con will host the first Machi Koro Championship, sponsored by Peachstate Hobby Distribution (see "First 'Machi Koro' Championships").
