Lugu uses six decks of 22 cards, each decorated with images of abstract art, as components. Players take turns using random cards to inspire their creativity, adding to the ongoing storyline.
Miles credits other storytelling games like Dixit as the inspiration for Lugu. “I like games that allow players to create stories such as Stupid Duel, Dixit, Snake Oil, and Braggart,” he said in a statement. “I found that within my game groups, we often carried the story on from one play to the next, so over the course of an evening we would have created a complete story together. I wanted to incorporate this idea into a game, but in a way that is abstract enough to enable players to be as creative as possible, while still allowing players to compete against each other.”Lugu is a game for three to six players, ages 8 and up, and plays in about 45 minutes. MSRP is $17.99.
