Veteran roleplaying game writer and designer Robert J. Schwalb plans to release his newest RPG, Shadow of the Demon Lord, in December.  Studio2 will be handling the distribution to trade. The game was funded through a very successful Kickstarter campaign in April that collected $140,122 from 1,498 backers (average $93.54 per backer).

Shadow of the Demon Lord is set in a dark fantasy world infested with demons, undead, and monsters.  The heroes must struggle to survive in this hostile world as it moves closer to an apocalyptic destruction at the hands of the mighty “Demon Lord.” The game system is designed for fast-paced play, with campaigns lasting only 11 typical game sessions.

The 224-page, full color hardcover rulebook will release in late December or early January.  Tentative MSRP is $45.  A pdf version of the game will be available starting in August.

Schwalb has over ten years of experience in RPG design, including work on some of the biggest titles in the hobby.  His credits include writing for three editions of Dungeons & Dragons (Wizards of the Coast), Dark Heresy and Grimm (Fantasy Flight Games), Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay and Song of Ice and Fire RPG (Green Ronin), as well as numerous other lines.  He opened his own design imprint, Schwalb Entertainment, in 2014.
