Kinberg has produced and written X-Men: Apocalypse and Fantastic Four, and is producing Deadpool for Fox; and is writer-producer on one of the Star Wars Anthology films.
The last news on the remake was back in 2013, when Bioshock creator Ken Levine was signed to do a script (see “New Take on ‘Logan’s Run’”). Before that, director Nicolas Winding Refn was attached along with Ryan Gosling to star (see "Gosling Off 'Logan’s Run'"); and before that, Bryan Singer was attached to direct (see "Bryan Singer to Remake 'Logan's Run'").
The original, from 1976, starred Michael York and Jenny Agutter (and Farrah Fawcett) and was based on a novel by William F. Nolan. The story is set in 2274, in a domed city where citizens are required to die when they reach 30. The hero is a Sandman who tracks down runners who try to avoid the termination at 30. He becomes a runner who catches sight of the world outside the dome.
