The CBS Supergirl series has added a major DC Comics villain with the announcement that Chris Browning (Sons of Anarchy) will join the cast of the October-debuting Supergirl series that stars Melissa Benoist (see “Supergirl Premiere Set”). Browning will join the cast of Supergirl in the show’s third episode as Ben Krull, a DC supervillain who is known as Reactron when he dons his armored suit that is powered by a miniature atomic reactor (remind you of anyone?).
Reactron, whose alter ego is actually “Ben Krullen” in the comics, was created by Paul Kupperberg and Carmine Infantino in The Daring New Adventures of Supergirl #8, which was published in 1983. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Reactron will join other DC Comics characters in the Supergirl series including the powerful business tycoon Maxwell Lord, who will be played by Peter Facinelli (Nurse Jackie).
The Supergirl TV series debuts on Monday, October 26 at 8:30 pm (ET, PT) after a lead-in from The Big Bang Theory and opposite the second half of Gotham on Fox (get your DVRs ready). Then on Monday, November 2, Supergirl moves to 8pm (ET, PT) the show’s regular slot (still opposite Gotham).
