Kodansha Comics made several new English license manga announcements at Otakon: the classic Queen Emeraldas, Complex Age, and Forget Me Not.

Leiji Matsumoto is best known for his involvement in Space Battleship Yamoto (Star Blazers in the US).  Now his 1978 space opera Queen Emeraldas will receive its first English release in beginning in July 2016. The story follows a young man who sneaks aboard a spaceship to escape Earth.  The new edition will be published in two large-format, 400+ page hardcover volumes.  Queen Emeraldas was also adapted into a four-episode OVA released in the U.S. by ADV Films in the late 1990s.

Yui Sakuma’s cosplay drama Complex Age chronicles the life of cosplayer Nagisa Kataura as she gets older and tries to keep her hobby a secret from her coworkers.  The series deals with work/hobby balance, jealousy among cosplay rivals, and dealing with harassment. Release is planned for June 2016.

Nao Emoto’s Forget Me Not is a romantic shonen manga based on a popular novel by Taiwanese author Mag Hsu.  The story follows Serizawa, who was hit by a truck one day, and was helped by a woman that he recognized, but can’t quite remember now.  The first volume releases in March 2016.
