Mayfair Games will release the new murder mystery board game Mystery! Motive For Murder in October, based on a license for the long-running WGBH/PBS Masterpiece spin-off series.
The game is designed by Bruce Glassco (Betrayal at Hose on the Hill), and uses Edward Gorey’s macabre artwork, long used for the introduction to the Mystery! TV program.
In Mystery! Motive For Murder, the players must investigate a murder at an English mansion by interviewing the manor’s guests and uncovering the suspect with the strongest motive for the murder.
The box will include 22 suspect tiles, 40 game cards, 134 game markers, 30 interview cubes, 15 status disks, 6 tokens, and game rules. The game is for 2 - 5 players, ages 10 and up, and plays in 30 to 90 minutes. Solitaire rules are also included. MSRP is $35.00.
In November, Mayfair will release a game about the chocolate industry (see “Become the Bitter-Sweet Master of Production in ‘King Chocolate’”).
