CoolMiniOrNot is in the final days of a very successful Kickstarter for its new game, The Others: 7 Sins, an apocalypse-themed game with gothic and darkly religious overtones.

The Others: 7 Sins is designed by Eric M. Lang (Marvel Dice MastersQuarriors!) for CoolMiniOrNot and Guillotine Games, and features the highly detailed miniatures of Studio McVey, as well as an all-star cast of artists like Miguel Coimbra (7 Wonders), Adrian Smith (Magic: The Gathering), and more.

}One player takes the role of the villain of the game, controlling one of the horrific Others representing a single of the seven deadly sins (Lust, Gluttony, Greed, Sloth, Wrath, Envy, and Pride). The other players in the game control a team of seven heroes, working in cooperation to stave off the end of the world.

The tone of each game is wildly different depending on which Sin is at play in the game; Pride, for example, punishes heroes that go out on their own, while Sloth punishes those who try to move quickly. Heroes can make use of the dark side of their nature for more power, but in doing so, they empower the Sin player and risk their own corruption. In addition to any particular Sin that might be at play, there are numerous stories that can be played out, and the tiles that make up the city greatly change the dynamics of each game, with an incredible number of combinations of game play. Either the heroes win collectively or the Sin player wins by thwarting the opposing team's mission.

The box contains 47 pre-assembled miniatures, 10 city tiles, 13 boards for Sins and heroes, 70 cards, 81 cardboard tokens, 27 sculpted wound and tentacle markers, 7 story boards, 8 colored bases, and 14 custom dice. The MSRP is $99.99, and The Others: 7 Sins has a retail release set for Q2 in 2016. The core game features Pride and Sloth; the additional sins will be made available as expansions.

CoolMiniOrNot and Guillotine Games also collaborated on Zombicide, whose most recent Kickstarter topped $4 million (see "Top 10 Tabletop Game Kickstarters"). With over $1 million raised, the Kickstarter for The Others ends on Tuesday, October 6, with fulfillment planned for March 2016.
