The new series, which is slated to debut in January, is set early during Anakin’s training (padawan) days when he and Kenobi are sent to a far-off planet that desperately needs the help of the two Jedi, one a master and the other an apprentice. Will the series provide clues about what incidents or character traits took Anakin in the direction of the Dark Side?

New York Comic-Con News: At the New York Comic Con Marvel Comics revealed a new five-issue Star Wars comic book series that will narrate a previously untold story set in the era before the Clone Wars and featuring two of the most fascinating figures from the “first generation” of Star Wars characters. Charles Soule (Lando) will handle the writing chores, while Marco Checchetto (Shattered Empire) will provide the art.
