American Gothic Press has announced Monster World, a new series from Steven Niles launching on December 30.

The four-issue miniseries is written by Steve Niles and American Gothic Press’s Publisher Philip Kim, with art and main cover by Piotr Kowalski (SEX).  An incentive cover series will be available, with one of four interlocking panels of a painting by Nigel Sade available for each issue. 

The story follows a detective who is investigating a man’s disappearance.  He finds himself tangling with a mysterious cult who has a controlling hand in … Hollywood monster movies? Would a major studio’s special effects makeup guru really dabble in the occult to give his creatures that added realism on screen?

American Gothic Press, a comic imprint of Famous Monsters magazine, launched in June (see “ Famous Monsters Launching Comics Line”).
