IDW Publishing has announced the new five-week Deviations event featuring altered timeline stories for five iconic properties: Ghostbusters, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, G.I. Joe, Transformers, and X-Files.

“When one moment changes,” said Chris Ryall, IDW Editor in Chief, “whole universes alter forever. We’re asking the questions fans have been pondering for years—and now we’ll see some answers.” Each comic will also feature a subscription variant cover.

Ghostbusters Deviations, written by Kelly Thompson (Jem and the Holograms) teams with artist Nelson Daniel (Judge Dredd) to answer the question: what would have happened if the Ghostbusters had never cross the streams of their proton packs to save New York?

G.I. Joe Deviations will be written by Paul Allor (G.I. Joe) with art by Cory Lewis, and will explore what would have happened if COBRA finally defeated the Joes.

Transformers Deviations will pair Brandon Easton (Andre the Giant: Closer to Heaven) and Priscilla Tramontano (Transformers: Robots in Disguise) poses the premise: what if the Autobots leader Optimus Prime never died?

In X-Files Deviations, written by Amy Chu (Sensational Comics: Wonder Woman), with art by Elena Casagrande (Doctor Who) and Silvia Califano (The X-Files: Season 10), Fox Mulder is abducted by aliens, and is never returned.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Deviations will be written by Tom Waltz (TMNT) with art by Zach Howard (Wild Blue Yonder).  The comic is set in a world where Shredder actually becomes the Turtles sensei.
