“Because we are moving our season to start and end with our yearly convention, Lock & Load, we will be running a mini-campaign from March until June,” Privateer Marketing Manager JR Goodwin told ICv2 via email.
Goodwin added that this is the largest kit that Privateer has ever done, and that it will introduce a new style of play: the platoon. Platoons are a single small group of models used over multiple scenarios that can be leveled up throughout the campaign. Platoons can be used in full-sized armies, and there are separate scenarios for full-sized games.
The kit supports league play for six weeks. Players can take control of soldiers of their favorite Faction and the right to earn a Faction pin. The kit includes new terrain battlegrounds, narrative scenarios, twelve enameled-metal Faction Champion pins, and rules for a special game format to support battles without warlocks or warcasters. The kit supports any number of players and has an MSRP of $79.99. The spring league closes at the end of June 2016.
Privateer Press is also releasing Level 7 [Omega Protocol] in March 2016 (see "Dr. Cronos Returns in 'Level 7 (Omega Protocol)' Expansion").
