Action Phase Games will release Dreamwell, a board game illustrated by comic artist Tara McPherson, in early August.

In Dreamwell, players attempt to locate their lost friends in the world of the Dreamwell, which is formed from tiles that depict various locations and creatures.  In order to locate their friend, a player must use cards to identify one location and two creatures.  Players can manipulate the tiles to create pathways across the board so they can move their Mr. Wiggles pieces into position to locate their friends.  The first player to locate seven friends wins the game.

The game was designed by Nick Little (Heroes Wanted).  All of the components are illustrated by Tara McPherson, who has done cover work for DC Vertigo Comics and others.

Dreamwell includes 91 cards, 16 double-sided game board tiles, 8 Mr. Wiggles stand-ups, 4 player markers and a first player marker.  The game is for 2 to 4 players, and plays in about half an hour.  MSRP is $30.00.

Action Phase is funding the project through a Kickstarter campaign, which exceeded its $30k funding goal in its second day.

Action Phase plans to release three other games in early 2016 (see “‘Kodama’ From Action Phase Games”).
