Releasing in August, Kraftwagen – V6 Edition will be the third Great Designer Series title. This design by Matthias Cramer (Rococo, Lancaster) explores the early history of the automotive industry. Players develop and produce cars, balancing expensive advancements that customers want with keeping prices low. This is a new edition of the game, featuring a new set of tiles and introducing the V6 engine to the game. MSRP is $59.95.
Also planned for August is Brian, Sydney, and Geoff Engelstein’s (creators of Space Cadets) game of fantasy bar brawls, The Dragon & Flagon. Players compete for the last flagon of renowned “Dragon,” a drink with magical properties. This game features a 3D tavern gameboard, and is designed for 2 to 8 players. MSRP is $59.95.(Click any image for larger view.)
Stronghold will release its fourth Great Designer Series game in September, Geoff Engelstein’s The Fog of War. This two-player wargame explores the European Theater of World War II at the grand strategy scale. Players must plan their strategy using the “Operation Wheel,” committing resources and planning in advance. The Fog of War will be Stronghold Games’ first “war game,” as well as Engelstein’s first solo design project. MSRP is tentatively set at $59.95. Finally, in October, the previously-announced Jorvik will release (see “Stronghold, Eggertspiele Announce Partnership”). Created by veteran game designer Stephen Feld (The Castles of Burgundy, Trajan), this game of Viking jarls is being moved under the Great Designer banner, and will be the fifth game in that series. MSRP has not yet been announced.
