Asmodee NA will release the board game Inis, a game of Irish myth and epic exploration in September.
Designed by Christian Martinez, in the game players take control of an Irish clan and explore the island’s enchanted landscape and claim territory. The game uses a combination of card drafting and area control to produce a system with strategic options and player interactions. The goal is to become the first High King of Ireland. This can be accomplished by spreading a player’s clan into six different territories, or becoming chieftain over a territory where at least six opponents’ clans dwell, or by occupying territories where a combined total of six sanctuaries lie. If two players each have accomplished one goal, someone must complete two goals to win.
The box contains 16 territory tiles, 67 cards, 48 sculpted plastic clan figures, 20 sculpted plastic buildings, 15 tokens and markers, and a rulebook. The game is for 2 – 4 players, ages 14 and up and plays in about an hour. MSRP is $69.99.
