Lion Forge’s Roar Comics will launch the new miniseries The Castoffs on October 12.

The four-issue story is written by Brian Smith (The Stuff of Legend) and M. K. Reed (Americus), with art and main cover by Molly Ostertag (Strong Female Protagonist). A wraparound variant cover for issue #1 will be done by Rosemary Valero-O'Connell (Lumberjanes).

The plot follows three apprentice mages who are sent to help a neighboring guild, but somehow they reignite the decades-old war with a robot army that nearly destroyed their world.
