Drakerys, a new tabletop miniatures game from the Don’t Panic Games design studio, is being imported into the U.S. by Surfin’ Meeple, starting in December.

Set in a fantasy world ruled by the traditional races of Dwarves, Elves, Orcs, and Humans, Drakerys was designed as an introductory-level miniatures game by Mohamed Ait-Mehdi, Pierre Joanne, Cedric Littardi, and Nicolas Raoult.  The game uses a story-driven scenario system to create battles between troops of miniatures, fighting battles for control of a magical archipelago forged by elemental forces.

The core of the game is the Drakerys Starter Set: Ashral Orcs vs Paladinate of Irosia.  This boxed set includes everything two players need to get into the game, including quickstart rules, the Valgar Archipelago campaign book, 1 double sided battleground board measuring 90 x 90 cm (about 35 inches), 36 plastic miniatures, 72 cards, 84 tokens, 2 Timepaths, 5 rulers, and 11 dice.  MSRP is $90.00.

The full game rules can be found in the Drakerys Rule Book, a full-color softcover book that includes rules, a mission creation system with nine pre-generated missions, backgrounds and army lists for the game’s four primary armies - Avaren Elves, Ashral Orcs, the Aurium Dwarves Caste, and the Holy Paladinate of Irosia - and rules for using scenery.  MSRP is $20.00.

All miniatures are supplied unpainted and may require assembly.

The miniatures for the game are sold in Army Boxes:

The Ashral Orcs Army Box has everything an Orc player needs to begin, including 16 plastic miniatures, quickstart rules, Timepath, 41 cards, 5 tape measures, 11 dice, and game counters.  MSRP is $60.00.

The Irosia Paladinate Army Box features a human army and the components needed to play, including 18 plastic miniatures, quickstart rules, Timepath, 41 cards, 5 tape measures, 11 dice, and game counters.  MSRP is $60.00.

The Aurum Dwarves Army Box comes with 19 plastic dwarf warriors, quickstart rules, Timepath, 42 cards, 5 tape measures, 11 dice, and game counters.  MSRP is $60.00.

As an alternative to the Starter Set, players who have purchased Army Boxes can add the Drakerys: Ashral vs Irosia Accessory Set, which includes the cards, tokens, Timepaths, tape measures, and battleground board from the Starter Set.  MSRP is $20.00.

Players can also enhance their armies with the addition of smaller troop and monster sets:

The Maelstrom Troops:  Elemental Heralds (MSRP $45.00) includes four elemental warriors, one from each of the four traditional elements, which can be added to any army.

The four Maelstrom Monster:  Elemental Overlord (MSRP $15.00 each) each offer a single oversized elemental model that can join any army.  There is one Overlord for each element.

Ashral Orcs Elite (MSRP $20.00) has a single giant Orc body with three sets of weapons that can be changed between games.

Maelstrom Monster:  Warmonger Dragon (MSRP $60.00) is an extra large model on a 120mm base that can be added to any army.  It comes with unit cards and a special mission card.

The game will also be supported with a line of Accessory Boxes, created by Level 42 Tabletop Accessories.  These components can be used with Drakerys or any other game that uses miniatures:

Accessory Box:  Elemental Vortexes & Maelstrom (MSRP $50.00) includes four vortexes and one larger maelstrom molded in brightly-colored plastic and designed to act as a base to any 32mm model.

Accessory Set:  30mm Scenic Bases and 40mm Scenic Bases (MSRP $15.00 each) has either 10 30mm or 5 40mm sculpted round miniatures bases designed for use with 28mm or 32mm models.

Accessory Box:  Sceneries Set A (MSRP $45.00) has three terrain pieces, including a Cursed Tree, Forsaken Door, and Archer’s Palisade.

Accessory Box:  Sceneries Set B (MSRP $45.00) features a Makeshift Camp, Lonesome Wall, and Soldier’s Palisade.

Accessory Box:  Sceneries Set C (MSRP $45.00) comes with one Arcane Tower, a Fallen Tower, and a Derelict Cart.

Accessory Set:  Playmat Set A, Playmat Set B, Playmat Set C, and Playmat D each includes a different 90 x 90 cm playmat printed with fantasy battleground scenery.  MSRP is $45.00 each.
