Mr. B Games is releasing the Renaissance banking game Pax Renaissance in November.
Pax Renaissance is a reimplementation of Phil Eklund’s Lords of the Renaissance from 1996. In the new edition, designed by Phil Eklund and Matt Eklund, players become Renaissance bankers, who may finance kings and republics, sponsor voyages across the seas, join secret cabals, or unleash jihads and inquisitions. Players choices determine if Europe moves forward toward the modern era or regresses to dark feudalism. There are four victories players can progress towards: imperialism, trade globalization, religious totalitarianism, or enlightened art and science.
The box contains 120 Cards, 40 tokens (florins & busted trade routes), 15 chess piece bishops representing inquisitors, 24 chess piece horsemen representing knights,24 chess piece rooks representing nobles and pirates, 40 cubes representing concessions and pawns and rules and historical background. The game is for 2 – 4 players, ages 13 and up, and plays in 90 minutes. MSRP is $39.99.
Mr. B has several other games debuting in the next few months (see “'Trains' Designer's 'Trick of the Rails' Gets U.S. Release”).
