Lee tweeted his thanks and best wishes for the new year.

And Keeps on Going

Stan Lee, the grand old man of comics, celebrated his 94th birthday on Wednesday, a staggering benchmark for such an active, visible ambassador for comics. Our coverage of his activities this year included news of a Stan Lee subscription box (see “’Excelsior!’ Stan Lee Joins Subscription Box Market”); the planned launch in 2017 of new property Nitron in comics, to be followed by other media (see “Stan Lee Launching ‘Nitron’”); an adult animated series in conjunction with Hollywood Reporter, created by Lee and written by Fabian Nicieza with Lee doing his own voice (pictured above, and see “News Round-Up from Licensing Expo”); and commentary on an ABC special on Captain America’s 75th anniversary (see “ABC Celebrates Captain America’s 75th Anniversary”). Of course, that lengthy list doesn’t include his frequent personal appearances, movie cameos, and many other activities that would leave a normal person exhausted.
A hearty "Thank You" to everyone for sending those birthday wishes! Here's to hoping for a happy and healthy New Year for us all! #Excelsior
