Eric Heisserer, the Academy Award-nominated screenwriter of Arrival, is set to pen a revival of Secret Weapons, an all-new four-issue miniseries from Valiant.

Artist Raul Allen (Wrath of the Eternal Warrior) joins Heisserer on the series, which centers on Livewire, a powerful telepath who has the ability to control machines. Livewire will lead a crew of “secret weapons” -- young psychics kept in a secret facility by her former mentor Toyo Harada, individuals whose powers Harada discounted but in whom Livewire sees potential.

The four issues of the series will be released in Valiant’s deluxe prestige format, which the publisher reserves for standalone and limited series it considers particularly important. The first issue will release on June 28.

Valiant CEO and CCO Dinesh Shamdasani indicated that the series will influence the publisher’s upcoming Harbinger Wars 2 crossover event (see “Valiant Teases Another War in Crossover Event”).

Heisserer recently left New Line’s troubled Sandman movie adaptation (see “'Sandman' Loses Another Screenwriter”) and wrote screenplays for Valiant’s upcoming Bloodshot and Harbinger films (see “Sony Plans Five Valiant Films”).
