Queen Games continues its aggressive 2017 release schedule with eight games planned for April, May, and June.

Four games are scheduled to release in April:

Captain Silver is a kid-friendly pirate game designed by Wolfgang Discherl and Manfred Reindl (the team behind Push a Monster).  In this tactile game, players try to pull the right pirate gear out of a cloth bag to earn gold coins or the right to move their ship closer to treasure island.

This game includes a six-piece game board, 4 stand up pirate ships, 4 bags, 83 tiles, and 38 gold tokens.  Captain Silver is for 2 to 4 players, ages 6 and up, and plays in about 20 minutes.  MSRP is $34.99.

In High Tide, created by Dirk Henn (Shogun, Alhambra), players compete to get their beach chairs as close to the water as they can, while trying not to get swept out to sea by the rising tide.  This push-your-luck style dice game comes with four expansions in the box.

High Tide comes with 1 game board, 25 tiles, 6 score markers, 6 sunshades, 6 towels, 36 deck chairs, 18 dice, and 1 cloth bag.  The expansions included add 48 coins and 25 more tiles.  Intended for 3 to 6 players, ages 8 and up.  Plays in about 25 minutes.  MSRP is $39.99.

Tip Tap is a reflexes game from Michael Schacht (Web of Power, Coloretto) where players simultaneously try to find and tap on sets of three tiles that match the symbols on a card.

This game includes 56 cards and 45 tiles.  Tip Tap is for 3 to 6 players, ages 8 and up, and plays in about 20 minutes.  MSRP is $29.99.

Inka and Markus Brand’s (Village, Murano) Worm Party is a hide-and-seek game for kids where the players own fingers act as playing pieces, as they try to hide their “worms” from the hungry chicken inside the 3-dimensional game board.

Worm Party comes with a 3D “worm garden,” 7 plastic mounds, 72 victory point tokens, 1 Charly Chicken tile, 1 die, and a sheet of stickers.  Designed for 2 to 4 players, ages 5 and up, this game plays in under 20 minutes.  MSRP is $39.99.

Two games are planned for May:

The re-release of Dirk Henn’s classic Metro, originally released in 1997, features new artwork and includes all four expansions in the box.  In this award-winning game, players try to create the longest subway routes possible by placing track tiles on the gameboard.

Metro includes 1 game board, 60 track tiles, 61 subway car tiles, and 6 pawns.  The expansions add 56 more tiles, 2 pawns, 32 stock shares, and a share board.  This game was designed for 2 to 6 players, ages 8 and up, and takes half an hour to play.  MSRP is $39.99.

Solaris is a sci-fi game about solar mining from Wolfgang and Brigitte Ditt (Nautilus, Big Points).  In a future where mankind has exhausted its fossil fuels, companies compete to build solar power collecting space stations around distant stars, using wormholes and lasers to beam the energy back to earth.

This resource management style game includes 6 station boards, 1 laser center board, 23 tiles, 35 tokens, 1 station marker, 1 turn marker, 4 energy transport tokens, and 108 cards.  Solaris was designed for 3 to 5 players, ages 12 and up, and plays in about an hour.  MSRP is $39.99.

June will also see two releases:

Set in the time of the Crusades, Templar’s Journey features a modified simultaneous action selection mechanic in which players must decide how much risk to take each turn, trying to avoid choosing the same action as their opponents.  The player who can best prepare their knights and lords for the journey to Jerusalem will win the game.  Created by the Moliis Brothers (Hornet, Foreclo$ed!).

Templar’s Journey has 1 game board, 5 player boards, 7 cities, 9 absolutions, 39 cards, 75 coins, 10 Templar lords, 100 knights, 1 chance token, and 1 bishop.  Intended for 3 to 5 players, ages 8 and up, this game plays in about an hour.  MSRP is $49.99.

12 Thieves is a new edition of Thorsten Gimmler’s (No Thanks!, Odin’s Ravens) 2006 hit Thief of Baghdad, which earned a Spiel des Jahres nomination in 2007.  Players send their dozen thieves to steal the most valuable treasures from the palace while avoiding the guards, which are perfectly happy to take bribes and help the thieves.

12 Thieves comes with 6 palace boards, 4 player boards, 96 tiles, and 110 cards.  This game is for 2 to 4 players, ages 8 and up, and plays in about 45 minutes.  MSRP is $39.99.

This batch of spring releases follows an equally heavy winter release schedule (see “Queen Adds Two U.S. Releases for New Year”).
