Warner Bros. is planning a new live-action film based on Batman-universe character Nightwing, The Hollywood Reporter is reporting.
The Lego Batman Movie director Chris McKay is in negotiations to direct. McKay’s other directing credits include Robot Chicken and Morel Orel, this would be his first live-action feature. Bill Dubuque (The Accountant) is currently writing a screenplay.
The DC Comics character of Nightwing is most commonly associated with former Robin character Dick Grayson, who had aged out of the sidekick role with Batman. The ongoing Nightwing series launched in 1996, written by Chuck Dixon and drawn by Scott McDaniel.
