Set in Westeros and Essos, the worlds of the novels, the new miniatures wargame will put fans in the middle of the action where they control well-known heroes and their troops in fast-paced, brutal confrontations. The game comes with pre-assembled miniatures of the characters, which players use as they take control of their favorite Houses. The gameplay is easy to learn but strategic in nature. Players can recreate favorite moments from the novels, as well as creating their own “what if” scenarios. Battle can be easily scaled from simple skirmishes between units to large-scale wars with hundreds of miniatures. Gameplay uses several unique systems which can put the emphasis on Rank, Tactics, or Heroes.
The first release will be the Stark vs Lannister Starter Set, with a lineup of regular retail releases to follow.
HBO just announced the premiere date for Game of Thrones Season 7, a popular drama which is also based on Martin’s novel series (see “'Game of Thrones' Premiere Date Set”).
