Ostensibly warning readers about the death of a major character in the issue, the cover overlay should serve to promote sales of the issue. The cover overlay warns that the issue “may not be suitable for all audiences” and comes on all copies of the issue at no additional cost. Darick Robertson, Giuseppe Camuncoli, Clayton Crain, Marc Laming, and Monika Palosz provide covers for the issue. Written by Rafe Roberts and drawn by Robertson, Harbinger Renegade #5 goes on sale on July 12.

The first issue in the “Massacre” story arc, Harbinger Renegade #5 will start laying the foundation for the upcoming Harbinger Wars 2 crossover event (see “Valiant Teases Another War in Crossover Event.”)
