Warner Bros. is surveying an online panel on “an upcoming made-for-video movie” adaptation of Watchmen, according to CBR.  The feature is described as “A faithful adaptation of the Watchmen graphic novel executed in an animation style that mirrors the source material.”  The new adaptation will carry an R rating, according to the report.  The survey went to Warners’ “A-List Community” panel, which according to a post on the site, is expected to abide by a non-disclosure agreement as a condition of membership.

A new OVA would be the second feature adaptation of the Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons masterpiece; the first, of course, was the 2009 Zack Snyder live-action theatrical feature.  Warner Bros. has previously released an R-Rated animated adaptation of another Alan Moore-penned classic, The Killing Joke (see “DVD Round-Up:  ‘The Killing Joke’”).

Snyder met with HBO to discuss a (presumably live action) TV series based on the property back in 2015 (see “’Watchmen’ Show on HBO?”); it appears nothing ever came of those talks.
