Anomaly Productions has announced its plans for marketing surrounding the release of Anomaly 2: The Rubicon, which will street this fall. Comic stores will have a two month exclusive window before Anomaly 2 will be sold in the book channel.
Approximately 300 select retailers (based on direct contact, such as at the recent Diamond Retailer Summit, or on size) will receive promotional “crates” this summer with one-of-a-kind 3-D-printed figures, USB drives with a preview copy of the book, and other goodies. A very limited number of the crates (1/100) will include plated figures (both types pictured here).Release will be promoted with a substantial ad campaign.
The second volume will be sold in the same landscape hardcover format as the first volume, with a slightly lower 264-page length. Unlike the first volume, the second volume will not come boxed, making for more consumer-friendly display. MSRP will be $49.99, less than the $75 tag for volume 1.Like the first volume, Anomaly 2 will include augmented reality pages, which will come alive when viewed with a mobile app. Initially there will be 20 AR pages; new pages will be added on a bi-monthly schedule after release.
The first volume, with an MSRP of $75, sold over 10,000 copies (see “Anomaly 2: The Rubicon”).
