Alderac Entertainment Group will release Cutthroat Kingdoms, a new fantasy card game of strategy and intrigue, in September.
Players take the roles of lords or ladies of Aurum, where the king has just died, and now all the great houses are vying for control of the land. While the six great houses plot to take the crown, they must also contend with a great plague which is ravaging the countryside. Players make their own rules for how to play this game of contract, duplicity, arranged marriages, military maneuvering, and assassination. Will players agree to conduct negotiations with honor, or will it devolve into a game of subterfuge, backstabbing, and betrayal?
The box contains: 199 game cards, 96 coin tokens (60 copper coins, 36 silver coins), 36 gems, 36 house tokens, 6 purses, a playmat and a rulebook. The game is for 3 – 6 players, ages 14 and up, and plays in 90 – 150 minutes. MSRP is $39.99.
