Collectibles marketer Funko has entered into an agreement to acquire licensed fashion accessories company Loungefly, the companies announced.  Loungefly is best known for its licensed handbags; it also makes other fashion accessories, and sells through specialty stores, boutiques, and department stores.

Loungefly founder Trevor Schultz noted the ways Funko can expand Loungefly.  "We look forward to working with the innovative Funko team to expand our unique product offering into new channels of distribution and licenses," he said.

The acquisition comes only a few months after Funko acquired Underground Toys early this year (see "Funko Acquiring Underground Toys Assets"), broadening its product portfolio once again.

Funko is anxious to show it is more than a one trick pony; it’s preparing for an IPO or sale this year (see "Funko Prepping for Possible IPO or Sale").
