IDW Publishing is releasing new comic books inspired by R.L. Stine’s bestselling Goosebumps series.

The first three-issue arc, “Monsters at Midnight,” comes from writer Jeremy Lambert (Attack on Titan Anthology) and artist Chris Fenoglio (X-Files: Origins). The story finds sisters Mia and Ginny trapped in Horrorland. The first issue is due in October.

The series will continue with self-contained, three-issue stories from rotating creative teams. Derek Charm, Drew Rausch, C.P. Wilson III, and Cat Farris are among the variant cover artists for the series.

Stine’s horror novel series for children debuted 25 years ago. This isn’t the series’ first foray into comics -- four graphic novel adaptations were released under Scholastic’s Graphix imprint in the mid-00s (see “'Goosebumps' Graphic Novels”).

Stine himself recently stepped into the comic book arena as the writer of Marvel’s new Man-Thing miniseries (see “Horror Author R.L. Stine Leads New Marvel Miniseries”).
