Yuri On Ice is hot right now, so it's not surprising that comics creators are thinking about that heady mix of athletics and awkwardness.  Meanwhile, Marvel sends some old-timers to visit Moon Girl, and Kevin Cannon takes over Adventure Time for three issues.

En Garde!  Fence, the just-announced comic series from BOOM! Studios is designed to appeal to fans of sports manga and anime such as Haikyū!! and Yuri on Ice.  Created by C.S. Pacat (author of the Captive Prince novels) and artist Johanna the Mad, Fence centers on a fencing team at an all-boys school, with a story that revolves around the elegant yet dangerous sport and also around the relationships—friendships, rivalries, and romances—between teammates.  The series launches in November and will be published under the BOOM! Box imprint; like most comics in that line, it will feature LGBTQ characters.

It's the Fantastic… Three!  Fantastic Four members the Human Torch and the Thing will join Lunella Lafayette and her pink sidekick in Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur #25, as part of Marvel's Legacy relaunch.  Moon Girl will be back on earth, and she will be facing Galactus and Silver Surfer.  The Thing, a.k.a. Ben Grimm, already paid a visit to Moon Girl in issue #14, and not only is he returning with his colleague, but writer Brandon Montclare drops some broad hints in an interview with Nerdist that there may be another special guest as well.  The comic will be out in November.

Graphic Cannon:  Kevin Cannon will be writing issues #70-72 of BOOM! Studios' Adventure Time comic.  Cannon told the Minneapolis StarTribune that an editor saw his 2009 graphic novel Far Arden and thought his quirky humor would work well in Adventure Time.  Issue #70 comes out on November 1.

New Title from Scott Morse:  Scholastic has acquired the rights to the young-readers graphic novel Dugout, by Scott Morse, Publishers Weekly reports. Morse is the author of the Magic Pickle graphic novels (see "Scholastic's Skein of Graphic Novels") and also works in animation; he made the short film Your Friend the Rat for Pixar. Scholastic will publish Dugout in its Graphix imprint in 2019.
