Two powerful leaders and their equally powerful warships will be added to Fantasy Flight Games’ Star Wars:  Armada late this year when the Chimaera Expansion Pack and the Profundity Expansion Pack are released in Q4.

The Chimaera Expansion Pack introduces the fan-favorite villain Grand Admiral Thrawn and his distinctive flagship, the Chimaera.  Offering exceptional tactical flexibility, the Grand Admiral can add dials to ships under his command, while the Chimaera offers two new refit versions of the Empire’s iconic Imperial Star Destroyer.  Other characters and story elements from Star Wars Rebels round out this expansion.

The new expansion comes with the Chimaera, 2 Mandalorian Gauntlet squadrons, 6 ship cards, 2 squadron cards, and 17 other game cards, as well as the bases, dials, and tokens needed for the game.  MSRP is $49.95.

Drawing material from last year’s hit film Rogue One:  A Star Wars Story, the Profundity Expansion Pack features the Mon Calamari Admiral Raddus and his flagship, the MC75 cruiser Profundity.  The abilities of this commander and his ship revolve around bringing reinforcements into the battle at the precise time and place that they will have the greatest impact, allowing the rebels under his command to turn the tide of battle.

The Profundity Expansion Pack comes with the Profundity, two ship cards, and 14 upgrade cards, including Admiral Raddus and Jyn Erso.  MSRP is $39.95.

The sixth wave of Star Wars Armada expansions was released earlier this year (see “‘Star Wars:  Armada Wave VI’ Expansions”).  The game continues to be a hot seller for Fantasy Flight, sitting comfortably at the #4 slot on ICv2’s latest list of top sellers (see “Top 5 Non-Collectible Miniature Games--Spring 2017”).
