ComicsPRO has announced the first three limited releases for this year’s Local Comic Shop Day. The items announced so far include:
- Valiant: Secret Weapons Deluxe Edition Hardcover, which won’t be available otherwise and will precede the release of the regular edition trade paperback
- Titan: Robotech LCSD Kerschi Super-Pack, which collects Robotech #1-4 with covers by Karl Kerschl and a limited edition Kerschl cover (limited to 700 pieces);
- IDW: Star Wars Adventures #1 (limited to 5,000 copies)
More LCSD exclusives will be announced soon, the organization said.
Retailer registration is now open. The licensing fee to participate is $29 for a single location store and $49 for a multiple-location store. Participants in LCSD will have access to online marketing materials, branded event bags, targeted social media advertising, and ComicsPRO creator conference calls. LCSD participants can also order a selection of the limited release merchandise.
LCSD is a ComicsPRO initiative modeled on Small Business Saturday that spotlights locally-owned independent comic book specialty stores (see “Local Comic Shop Day Moved to Weekend Before Thanksgiving”). Now in its third year, LCSD is scheduled for November 18, and ComicsPRO is encouraging retailers to register to ensure that they are eligible to order LCSD items. The registration deadline is September 18.
