Daily Magic Games has released details about its upcoming space exploration and conquest game Horizons.  The new game is scheduled to release at Gen Con next year.

Daily Magic gave ICv2 a sneak peak at Horizons at Origins (see “Daily Magic Heads for ‘Horizons’”).  Created by Levi Mote (Ruse), Horizons seeks to combine the experience of a “4X” game (eXplore, eXpand, eXploit, eXterminate), with the fast-playing style of Eurogames.  In the game, players use their “allies” to enhance their actions so they can complete a variety of missions in pursuit of victory.

Horizons will include 5 player boards, 30 double-sided world tiles, 8 star tiles, 30 habitat markers, 75 cards, and 195 tokens.  The game was designed for 2 to 5 players, ages 14 and up, and takes a little more than an hour to play.  MSRP is $50.00.

Daily Magic is funding the production of Horizons through a Kickstarter campaign that has attracted $55,846 in pledged support from 1,155 backers so far (an average of $48.35 per backer), with eight days remaining in the campaign.  A retailer-only pledge level is available, which includes six copies of the game.
