In October, Ravensburger will release an English version of its deck builder board game The Quest for El Dorado in the U.S.

The Quest for El Dorado puts players in the shoes of expedition leaders racing to find the legendary city of El Dorado.  Starting with a handful of supplies, the players use a deck building mechanic to expand and improve their expeditions, strategically decide which routes to pursue into the jungle, and how to use their resources to reach the city before their opponents.

The game, which was created by the prolific and popular designer Reiner Knizia, received a popular response when it released in Germany, earning a nomination for the coveted Spiel des Jahres (“Game of the Year”) award in that country (see “2017 ‘Spiel des Jahres’ Nominations”).

It includes 4 player boards, 7 terrain boards, 86 cards, 8 expedition figures, 36 tiles, and a start player token.  The Quest for El Dorado is intended for 2 to 4 players, ages 10 and up, and plays in about an hour.  MSRP is $32.99.
