WizKids will produce Blade Runner 2049:  Nexus Protocol, a social deduction game inspired by the upcoming film. Release is planned for January.

In Blade Runner 2049:  Nexus Protocol, the players try to figure out which one of them is actually a replicant posing as a normal human being.  But even the replicant doesn’t know their true identity.  The mystery replicant player hopes to identify themselves and concealing the fact from the other players, while the other players try to find the replicant so it can be “retired.”

The game was created by Jesse Wright and Travis R. Chance (Heroes Wanted, Infamy).  It comes with 63 cards and 7 standees.  Nexus Protocol is intended for 3 to 6 players, ages 14 and up, and plays in about 45 minutes.  MSRP is $19.99.

The long-awaited film will release on October 6.  A trailer can be seen here: “‘Blade Runner 2049’ Trailer.”

WizKids’ parent NECA announced a multi-category license for the movie in January (see “WizKids Parent NECA Signs 'Blade Runner 2049' License”).
