On the eve of New York Comic Con, Lion Forge has announced four new additions to its editorial department : Desiree Rodriguez, Erika Kuster, Hazel Newlevant, and Jasmine Amiri.

“Each of these editors brings a unique experience and talent to Lion Forge, and each will help move the company forward in our goal of publishing comics for everyone,” Andrea Colvin, VP and Executive Editor said in the announcement. “As we continue to grow, these four professionals represent exactly the kind of talent we need to bring Lion Forge to the next level of success.”

Erika Kuster, who was named Managing Editor, has over 12 years’ experience in the publishing industry, and was previously Managing Editor for Andrews McMeel Publishing (AMP).

Jasmine Amiri’s, who previously spent six years as an Editor at BOOM! Studios, has editorial credits including John Allison’s Eisner and Harvey nominated Giant Days, James Tynion IV and Michael Dialynas’ GLAAD Award Winner The Woods, and Matt Kindt and Tyler Jenkins’ Grass Kings.

Desiree Rodriguez is an entertainment and comics journalist with eight years’ experience, writing for websites including The Tempest, Women Write About Comics, The Nerds of Color, and The Feminist Wire.

Hazel Newlevant, who was named Associate Editor, is editor and publisher of the anthologies Chainmail Bikini: The Anthology of Women Gamers and Comics for Choice. Newlevant is the author of the graphic novel memoir No Ivy League, which will be published by Lion Forge in 2018. She has been awarded an Ignatz Award, Xeric Grant, and Prism Comics Queer Press Grant.

Colvin was promoted to Vice-President – Executive Editor at Lion Forge this summer (see “New Executive Editor”).
