Drawn & Quarterly’s Spring 2018 catalog includes two BD titles, plus a memoir, underground comix, murder mysteries, and more.

In The Strange, French illustrator Jerome Ruillier tells the nonfiction story of an unnamed undocumented immigrant through the viewpoints of those he encounters. The 160-page, two-color trade paperback will be available in June for an MSRP of $21.95.

Artist and musician Genevieve Castree, who counted Herge among her influences, passed away in 2016 after a protracted battle with cancer. Her last work, A Bubble, is a brief but stunning contemplation of love and loss from the artist to her two-year-old daughter. The 16-page, full-color board book will be on sale in June for an MSRP of $12.95.

Elise Gravel explores the world of fungi in The Mushroom Fan Club. A tour of the forest floor that incorporates both science and whimsy, the 56-page, full-color hardcover will be available in June for an MSRP of $17.95.

Underground comix pioneer Aline Kominsky-Crumb collects work from the 1970s to today in Love That Bunch. The artist’s only solo-authored work, Love That Bunch will be in stores in May. The 168-page, black-and-white hardcover has an MSRP of $14.95.

In Sabrina, Nick Drnaso explores conspiracy theories, mental breakdowns, murder, and more in the digital age. The 204-page, full-color hardcover will be on sale in May for an MSRP of $24.95.

Matthew Thurber lampoons the sycophants, patrons, galleries, and self-aggrandizing stars of the contemporary art world in Art Comic, a 192-page, full-color hardcover. The volume will be out in June at an MSRP of $24.95.

Blame This on the Boogie is Rina Ayuyang’s autobiographical examination of how musicals helped her navigate cultural differences, postpartum depression, and political turmoil. The 160-page, full-color hardcover will be on sale in June for an MSRP of $21.95.

April will see the release of a new expanded edition of Craig Thomson’s travelogue Carnet de Voyage. The 256-page, black-and-white hardcover has an MSRP of $21.95.

The latest volumes of two beloved series will be available in July. Tove Jansson’s The Moomins and the Great Flood is a 56-page hardcover that has an MSRP of $16.95. The sixth volume of Shigeru Mizuki’s family-friendly manga series, Kitaro’s Yokai Battles, comes in at 192-pages and has an MSRP of $12.95.
