With some concerned that the Netflix Marvel shows Jessica Jones, Daredevil, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and The Punisher may move to Disney’s new streaming service, Netflix content chief Ted Sarandos addressed the issue while speaking to investors this week at the UBS Global Media and Communications Conference in New York, as reported by THR. Sarandos acknowledged Disney’s recent announcements about pulling its movie content from Netflix (see “Disney Drops the Other Shoe on Netflix”), but pointed out that Disney does not control all of the Marvel IP. "It's not that exclusive ... Netflix has The Defenders," he said. Which means the other five shows in the Defenders universe produced for Netflix will likely remain as well.
