Archie Comics announced a new Dick Tracy comic series co-written by Alex Segura and Michael Moreci launching on April 11.

Written by Segura and Moreci, the series will be drawn by Thomas Pitilli (Riverdale). Variant covers for issue #1 will be provided by Francesco Francavilla, Kyle Baker, Cat Staggs, and Michael Walsh. The first story arc will go back to the early days of Dick Tracy’s time in The City, set just after WWII.

Francavilla variant
Dick Tracy was a comic strip created by Chester Gould. It debuted in the Detroit Mirror on October 4, 1931. The character has been adapted for radio, books, film, television and comic books. IDW Publishing began releasing hardcover reprints of the classic comic strip in 2007 (see “IDW's Dick Tracy Revealed”). IDW released Complete Chester Gould Dick Tracy HC Vol. 23 last month. Volume 24 will release in May.
