Ahead of Emerald City Comic Con, Dark Horse Comics revealed details about the releases in their Avatar: The Last Airbender series.
Avatar: The Last Airbender—Team Avatar Tales includes stories from Gene Luen Yang (Avatar: The Last Airbender—North and South), Faith Erin Hicks (The Nameless City), Carla Speed McNeil (Finder), Ron Koertge (Vampire Planet), Dave Scheidt (Dreamworks Trolls, Wrapped Up), Sara Goetter (Dungeon Critters, Boozle), and more. The anthology one-shot features a cover from Sara Kipin (The Language of Thorns: Midnight Tales and Dangerous Magic) and will be in stores on September 5. The 80-page volume has an MSRP of $10.99.
The hit Dark Horse graphic novel series will resume in Avatar: The Last Airbender—Imbalance Part One from Faith Erin Hicks and artist Peter Wartman (Stonebreaker, Over the Wall) in collaboration with Avatar: The Last Airbender TV series co-creators Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko. The 80-page graphic novel is the first of a three-part series in which Aang, Katara, Sokka, and Toph return to Earthen Fire Industries and find a town gripped in a massive bender versus non-bender conflict. It will be in stores on October 10 for an MSRP of $10.99.
Avatar has been a top-selling kids comics franchise (see “Top 10 Kids Graphic Novel Franchises - Spring 2017”). Dark Horse announced the new comics during New York Comic Con (see “Dark Horse: More 'Avatar' and Nintendo 'Arms'”).
