At Anime Boston, VIZ Media announced a bounty of new manga, art book acquisitions, and spin-offs from a hit anime series for fall and winter release.

Four new Shonen Jump titles were added:

  • The spin-off Dragon Ball: That Time I Got Reincarnated as Yamacha! where a die-hard Dragon Ball fan is reincarnated as Yamcha – DB's biggest punching bag (November)
  • Dr. Stone (see "Exclusive Reveal! 'Dr. Stone' Comes to Print"),
  • The high school romantic comedy We Never Learn (December)
  •  The third Bleach Box Set which includes volumes 49 – 74, and exclusive mini-comic, author interview, and double-sided poster (November)

Shojo titles include:

  • AO Haru Ride (October)
  • The high fantasy title Record of Grancrest War by Ryo Mizuno (Record of Lodoss War) (November)
  • The French fantasy adventure title Radiant (September)

The VIZ Signature line will release

  • Abara: Complete Deluxe Edition a horror scifi series from Tsutomu Nihei (Biomega, Blame! Knights of Sidonia) (December)
  • The cute magical coming-of-age story Ran and the Gray World (November)
  • Tokyo Ghoul Complete Box Set Vol 1 – 14, which comes with an exclusive double-sided poster (October 2018).

Art book titles include:

  • The deluxe hardcover collection of Akira Toriyama’s (Dragon Ball) Dragon Quest Illustrations: 30th Anniversary Edition will include over 500 illustrations from the video game series spanning 1986 - 2016 (December)
  •  (Announced first on ICv2 during Manga Week) The Complete Art of Fullmetal Alchemist (see "Exclusive Reveal! 'The Complete Art of Fullmetal Alchemist'")

VIZ also announced the acquisition of K: Seven Stories, a group of six animated stories and spinoff shorts based on the hit anime series K from Studio GoHands and GoRA Project.  VIZ made the agreement, which covers digital streaming, EST, home video and merchandising rights for K: Seven Stories, with Japan-based King Records.  The original anime follows Yashiro Isana, a teenager wanted for a crime he does not remember committing.  He is hunted, but as he flees to try to figure out what happened, he gets help from Kuroh Yatogami and the mysterious girl Neko.  Both seasons of the anime, and the film K: Missing Kings are available from VIZ on home media release.  The spin-off series expands the k-project universe, with six original animated stories and spinoff shorts featuring both new and returning characters.  Release date was not announced at this time.
